LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The 36th-ranked UNLV women's tennis team completed an opening-day doubleheader sweep by blanking Pacific 7-0 late Friday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.

The hosts again took two of three doubles matches to earn the early 1-0 advantage. Aleksandra Josifoska and Nives Pavlovic won 8-3 over Iveta Masarova and Summer Irvin and Rumyana Terzieva and Lucia Batta won 8-1 over Susan Te and Regina Suarez.

In singles, Batta switched to the top spot and downed Julia Hansen 6-4, 6-4. Also winning in straight sets was Pavlovic, 6-3, 6-3 over Te at No. 3; Manon de Lanlay, 6-1, 7-5 over Gergana Boncheva at No. 4; Anett Ferenczi-Bako, 6-2, 6-3 over Irvin at No. 5. Using a super-tiebreaker to win was Josifoska, 6-1, 4-6, 1-0 (10-8) at the second spot and Ella Bourchier, 6-3, 4-6, 1-0 (10-5) at the sixth position.

Because of bad weather in the forecast, UNLV will now take Saturday off and instead host Weber State on Sunday beginning with doubles at 10 am.
