It's the second game of the week against a future Mountain West school. On Monday, the Lady Rebels claimed a 74-63 win over in-state rival Nevada, Reno, who like the Bulldogs will be joining the MW in the 2012-13 season. Despite holding the best record in the Mountain West, this is the first appearance on the conference's network this season for UNLV.
Friday's contest is also a matchup of the top teams in both the Mountain West and the WAC, as both UNLV and Fresno State come in with 11 wins this season. By reaching 11 wins against UNR on Monday, the Lady Rebels matched their entire win total from last season.
The game will see a contrast of styles, as UNLV is winning this season off its defense (55.8 points allowed per game, 34.6% field goal defense, but more importantly its rebounding, with a +7.1 rebound margin. Fresno State meanwhile lives behind the three-point line, constantly taking more three-point shots per game then shots inside the line, and averages 9.3 treys per game.
