UNLV Post Game Quotes

UNLV Head Coach Bobby Hauck Opening Statement:

"We are tired of being almost there, we were almost there but everyone is sick of that. I like our guys effort even though we were pretty banged up. Some of guys that had to step in did a good job. We have to get it in the end zone. We probably made enough plays in the second half to win the game, but we didn't play well enough on either side of the ball in the first half. We have to do a little bit better job. Like I said, everyone is tired of us being almost good enough to win."

On the what pass interference is:

"It's interesting how we have been victimized in some games. The Reno game we had the one that was questionable on the defensive pass interference. They call it like they see it. We had the one against San Diego State in the red zone, the offensive pass interference was called away from where the throw went hurt us. And then the one today, we thought it was pass interference on our sideline. They call it like they see it, but I don't agree with them all the time. We believe in our conferences system for evaluating the referees and the education process. We will send those plays in and they will do their critique of it and put it on their teach tapes."

On making plays in the second half:

"We made some plays on the ball down the field, which we didn't in the first half. Our guys settled down, relaxed and played the ball. We got off blocks a little better up front and got to the quarterback and hit him. That was basically it. We didn't change a bunch coverage wise."

On the fake field goal:

"We run the option play out of the field goal formation for a touchdown. Our guys were looking at it upstairs and they couldn't tell on their shot. It comes down to Caleb putting the ball away, even if we have to go down on the one. That's pretty much a shame."
