LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) -

UNLV placed five members of the women's basketball team on the 2012 Spring Academic All-Mountain West team, while another three were named a MW Scholar-Athletes. Jamie Smith finished her four-year career as a Lady Rebel by being named to both teams all four years, while joining her as MW Scholar-Athletes were freshmen Alana Cesarz and Briana Charles.

To be eligible for selection to the Academic All-MW team, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the school while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their team. To be eligible for selection as a MWC Scholar-Athlete, student-athletes must have completed at least two academic terms at the member institution, while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better, and have participated in varsity competition for their athletic team.
