UNLV - Air Force Post Game Quotes

UNLV Head Coach Bobby Hauck:

"Air Force is a very good football team. They will play well the rest of the year, I hope we do too. Obviously we are excited to get the win. We are 1-0 in the conference. I'm just really proud of our guys. That's what happens when people stick with it. We have a lot of pride in our locker room."

"We had every reason in the world to not win this game. We clawed our way back into twice in the first then we gave up a long pass play off of a short throw and they got points with 31 seconds left. Our guys were determined and they came out in the second half and took the game."

Message at halftime:

"The message at halftime was that we needed to tackle better and play the cut block on the edge better. I think we had a good plan against them. On the offensive side of the ball it was keep doing what we are doing. We had a couple wrinkles at halftime but I thought we were pretty productive in the first half on offense."

Freshman QB Nick Sherry:

"First all I can say is glory be to god. It is a great opportunity to get to play college football. It felt great to get our first win. When that clock went to zero, we all just went crazy on the sideline. We have been fighting so hard these last three weeks and to come so close, it really takes a toll on you."

On going for it on fourth and inches:

"Our O-Line has been pushing them all day. We have a great O-Line and great running backs and we were an inch away. The line got a great push and it was easy for me to just fall forward."
