LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) -
UNLV placed four members of the women's basketball team on the 2013 Spring Academic All-Mountain West team, while another one more was named a MW Scholar-Athletes. Briana Charles and Slana Cesarz were both named Academic All-MW for the second straight season, while named for the first time were junior Friederike Moderegger and freshman Amie Callaway. Callaway was also honored as a MW Scholar-Athletes.
To be eligible for selection to the Academic All-MW team, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the school while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their team. To be eligible for selection as a MW Scholar-Athlete, student-athletes must have completed at least two academic terms at the member institution, while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better, and have participated in varsity competition for their athletic team.
