LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV right-handed pitcher Erick Fedde (1-0) was named the Mountain West Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced earlier today.

The native Las Vegan gave up just one hit and did not walk a single batter in the Rebels' combined shutout 5-0 victory over Central Michigan. He struck out a career-high 11 batters in 7.1 innings of work.

This is Fedde's third career conference honor and he was last recognized on April 1, 2013. His 11 strikeouts are tied for a conference-high and after game his opposing batting average is .043, which also ranks first in the MW.

UNLV's (4-0) next opponent is Southeastern Conference member Tennessee. UNLV will travel to face the Volunteers for a three-game series starting on Friday. Fans can listen to all three games between the Rebels and the Volunteers on 920 The Game in Las Vegas. First pitch on Friday in Knoxville, Tenn., will be at 2:00 p.m. PT, while the Saturday and Sunday games will start at 10:00 a.m. PT. All three games will also be streamed at www.UTSports.com.

UNLV will next play at home on February 28 for a three-game series against Air Force to open Mountain West play. Fans can purchase their tickets to any home games online and save money.
