Rain-Soaked Rebs Heading Home

LA JOLLA, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) - Members of the UNLVmen's tennis team headed home Saturday after completing a roadtrip at a rain-soaked 125th Annual Pacific Coast Men's Doubles Championship.

Taking part for the second straight time in the nation's second-oldest tennis tournament, the Rebels had two duos see action today at the storied open event, which is played at the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club.

Ace Matias and Denys Pume retired while trailing 6-5 to San Diego State's Juan Florez and Milen Ianakiev while Willie Sublette and Dimitar Petrov lost 8-2 to Leif Berger and Srikar Alla from Rice.

On Thursday, Subletteand Willie and Petrov beat an independent team made up of Ryan Seggerman and Keegan Smith, 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (10-6).

UNLV is next in action at UC Irvine on March 7.
