Lexington Thomas has been named the Outstanding Rebel of the Week presented by Air Force Reserve, the school announced Wednesday.
The new award goes to the student-athlete who turned in the best individual performance during the previous week of competition, as voted on by the UNLV communications department.
Thomas averaged 7.1 yards per carry while posting a career-high 120 yards on just 17 carries in the football team's victory over Hawai'i on Saturday. He also caught one pass for nine yards and his three-yard touchdown rush with 7:09 remaining in the fourth quarter pushed UNLV's lead to 34-21 in the 41-21 final.
