LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - After going 2-1 at the Maui Jim Maui Invitational, including a 72-69 win over No. 13/14 Indiana on Wednesday, the UNLV men's basketball team will return home to the Thomas & Mack Center to face Prairie View A&M on Saturday, Nov. 28 at 7 p.m.
In the win over the Hoosiers, Patrick McCaw scored 20 points (his fourth straight game with at least 20), while Ike Nwamu and Ben Carter finished with 16 apiece.
Prior to the Indiana game, UNLV (5-1) bounced back after suffering its first loss of the season on Monday to UCLA (77-75) to defeat Chaminade (93-73) on Tuesday. Derrick Jones Jr. led all Runnin' Rebels in that game with a career-high 26 points and hauled in a career-high 10 rebounds to record his first career double-double. McCaw added a career-high 25 points and also chipped in four assists, three steals and three rebounds. Stephen Zimmerman Jr. missed that game because of illness.
In UNLV's Maui Invitational opener against UCLA, Zimmerman Jr. recorded his third double-double of the season with 10 points and 13 rebounds. He also had three blocks and two assists. McCaw scored 20 against the Bruins.
Prairie View A&M (0-5) is coming off an 85-67 loss at Wisconsin on Wednesday. The Panthers opened the season with losses at VCU, at Houston, at Bryant and vs. Radford before the game in Madison, Wis.
Saturday's game will have no television coverage, however a live Mountain West Network video stream will be available for free at UNLVRebels.com with Tony Cordasco and Keith Starr calling the action.
