UNLV Game Notes | USC Game Notes
Month-long Road Swing Begins Sunday At USC...
UNLV played the entire month of November at home, and took advantage of that to win its first five games on the way to a 5-1 record for the month. It's December now though, and that has the Lady Rebels playing the entire month on the road, starting with Sunday's contest at USC.
This will be the first meeting between the two schools since the 1989-90 season, in which the Lady Rebels claimed the second straight in a two-year series between the two, 98-67 in Las Vegas. The first five meetings all took place between 1975 and 1980, and UNLV leads the overall series 4-3.
USC is also potentially the second straight undefeated opponent the Lady Rebels could face, after suffering their first loss of the year on Nov. 29 to then 6-0 Drake. The Trojans, 6-0 and receiving votes in this week's Top 25 AP Poll, are hosting Southern Utah on Dec. 4 before playing the Lady Rebels two days later.
UNLV has shown improvement on defense this season and currently lead the Mountain West in field goal defense at 32.6%. The Lady Rebels are also one of the top rebounding teams in the nation wit ha +12.5 rebound margin, and also add 11.8 steals per contest.
