Feb. 10, 2015 PALOS VERDES, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) - No. 15 UNLV women's golf finished 11th at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge. The Rebels turned in a tournament score of 43-over-par 895 (303-297-295) at the par-71, 6,017-yard, Palos Verdes Golf Club.
Baylor won the tournament after leading all three days. The Bears finished 11-over 863 (281-289-293), four strokes ahead of USC which finished at 15-over 867 (287-292-288). Arizona finished third at 28-over and Oklahoma State and UCLA tied for fourth at 31-over.
Individually the Rebels were led by senior
Dana Finkelstein, who ranks fifth in the country. She turned in a 10-over 223 (74-75-74) and tied for 24th.
UCLA's Bronte Law took home individual medalist honors by turning in a 5-under 208 (68-69-71). She finished two strokes ahead of Baylor's Hayle Davis, who finished at 3-under 210 (69-68-73). USC's Amy Lee finished third at 2-under and Baylor's Dylan Kim and Arizona State's Monica Vaughn tied for fourth at 1-over.
Also competing for the Rebels is senior
Mayko Chwen Wang, who tied for 33rd at 12-over 225 (75-76-74). Freshman
Harley Dubsky also tied for 33rd, posting a 12-over 225 (77-75-73). Freshman
Mackenzie Raim finished tied for 44th at 14-over 227 (82-71-74) and sophomore
Avery French finished tied for 62nd at 18-over 231 (77-78-76).
The tournament featured 16 teams and 88 individuals. UNLV will have a couple weeks off before competing in its next tournament of the spring. The Rebels will travel to the UC Irvine Invitational presented by Kia February 23-24.
