April 12, 2015 TEMPE, Ariz. (UNLVRebels.com) -- No. 14 UNLV women's golf finished 15th at the PING/ASU Invitational after turning in a score of 31-over-par 895 (296-294-305). The tournament wrapped up on Sunday and was played at the par-72, 6,233-yard, ASU Karsten Golf Course.
Arizona took home the team honors after turning in a tournament score of 3-under 861 (288-276-297). The Wildcats were the only team to finish with a score under par. Baylor (292-287-289) and Arizona State (287-290-291) tied for second at 4-over 868 and Southern California (289-287-294) and South Carolina (288-284-298) tied for fourth at 6-over 870.
Freshman Harley Dubsky led the Rebels and finished in a four-way tie for sixth place. She turned in a tournament score of 2-under 214 (69-70-75).
Arizona State's Monica Vaughn (69-69-72) and Texas' Bertine Strauss (71-68-71) tied for first at 6-under 210. Duke's Leona Maguire (66-74-71) and Southern California's Annie Park (71-67-73) tied for third at 5-under 211. South Carolina's Katelyn Dambaugh rounded out the top-five at 3-under 213 (73-66-74).
Also competing for the Rebels was senior Dana Finkelstein, who is tied for 45th at 7-over 223 (75-73-75). Freshman Mackenzie Raim tied for 70th at 13-over 229 (75-78-76), sophomore Avery French tied for 73rd at 14-over 230 (77-73-80) and Mayko Chwen Wang finished 87th at 26-over 242 (84-79-79).
A total of 15 teams and 87 individuals played in the tournament.
UNLV will resume its spring schedule with post season play at the Mountain West Championship, which will be played in Palm Springs, Calif.
