Wilson Stadium. The game is set to resume at noon PT on Saturday with the Rebels leading 6-2.
Air Force took an early 2-0 lead in the third inning, but UNLV bounced back with a five-run fifth inning.
Austin Anderson started the inning with a single to shortstop. Nick Rodriguez moved Anderson over with a single through the left side of the infield. Junior Joey Armstrong brought home Anderson with a single to right field while Rodriguez moved to third on the same play.
The Rebels took a 3-2 lead after Payton Squier cleared the bases with a two-run triple. Squier came home on an Edgar Montes single to left field. Montes advanced to second on a wild pitch and then moved to third following a passed ball. He later scored on an Erik VanMeetren bunt single to the third base bag.
UNLV tacked on one more run in the seventh inning when Squier brought home Armstrong with a single up the middle.
Kenny Oakley went six innings, allowing two runs on five hits and recorded his third quality start of the year. He struck out four and walked two. Joey Lauria came in relief and tossed a clean inning of work with two strikeouts before the game was suspended.
