Played for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox in the Cape Cod Baseball League ... Joined the team on July 2 after an injury forced him to miss the end of the Rebel season ... Played in a total of 31 games for the Red Sox, including eight games in the CCBL playoffs ... Helped the team capture its fourth CCBL championship.
2014 - SOPHOMORE
Started 51 of the Rebels[apos] 61 games as a sophomore ... Was the team[apos]s primary centerfielder, but also made six starts at third base ... Hit .302 with four home runs, eight doubles, three triples and 27 RBI ... Stole seven bases and drew 28 walks ... Recorded 22 games with multiple hits, which ranked third on the squad ... Had a 12 game hitting streak from April 17 to May 10, which ranked as the second-longest hitting streak of the season on the team ... Best performance of the year came against Air Force in the second game of a doubleheader when he finished 4-for-5 with three RBI (March 1) ... Named to the 2014 Mountain West Preseason All-Conference Baseball Team ... Missed the final 10 games after an injury ended his season following the May 15 game against UNR.
2013 SUMMER - RISING SOPHOMORE
Played for the East Texas Pump Jacks in the Texas Collegiate League ... Started in the Texas Collegiate League All-Star game at third base and moved to catcher in the sixth inning of the contest ... Named to the All-TCL team after hitting .299 with 31 RBI on the summer ... Played in a team-high 49 games and led the team with 174 at bats ... Hit a league-high four triples, one shy of the league record, and ended the year ranked in the top-10 in the TCL in hits (52) and RBI (31) ... Also hit two home runs, which ranked second on the team ... Saw action at third base, catcher and played in the outfield for the Pump Jacks.
2013 - FRESHMAN
Started all 57 games for the Rebels as a true freshman at third base ... Named the Mountain West Freshman of the Year by College Sports Madness ... Hit .324 with eight doubles, three triples and 33 RBI ... Stole 10 bases and was walked 29 times ... Tied a Rebel record with eight at bats against San Diego State (April 19) ... Recorded 24 games with multiple hits, which ranked as the second most on the team, and seven games with multiple RBI ... Scored a season-high four runs against UC Riverside on April 30 ... Drove in a season-high four RBI at Air Force (May 18).
HIGH SCHOOL
A 2012 graduate of Lodi High School in Lodi, Calif. ... A four-year letterwinner under Hobie Schultz ... Was named the San Joaquin Athletic Association League MVP and the All-Area Offensive Player of the Year ... Led the Flames with a .562 average, seven home runs and 36 RBI as a senior ... Did not play his junior season due to injury ... Was named the league[apos]s MVP as a sophomore and was named to the all-area first team ... Hit .510 with five home runs and 31 RBI ... Named to the league[apos]s first team and the all-area first team as a freshman ... Hit .490 with two home runs and 26 RBI ... Also lettered two years on the football team ... Joey Mark Armstrong was born Aug. 20, 1993, in Woodbridge, Calif. ... The son of Teresa and Mark ... Father was an two-time all-conference player at Maine in 1978-79 and was part of a Black Bears team that went to the CWS in 1976 ... Has two older sisters, Elizabeth and Sarah, and one older brother, Pat, who is a former Rebel and is currently playing in the Los Angeles Angels organization ... Majoring in sociology.
