LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV baseball (22-28, 8-19 MW) dropped its final home game of the regular season 6-2 to Fresno State (27-25, 16-11 MW) on Sunday at Earl E. Wilson Stadium.
Senior Morgan Stotts was the only Rebel to tally multiple hits, going 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI. As a team they collected six hits in the contest.
Before the game, UNLV honored nine departing seniors. Taking part in the ceremony was Stotts, Dylan Ellis, Zack Hartman, A.J. Hernandez, Joey Lauria, Edgar Montes, Matt Thomas, Joey Swanner and Erik VanMeetren.
The Bulldogs scored two runs in the third inning and three runs in the fourth to take a 5-0 lead.
The Rebels cut into the lead in the sixth inning after a Stotts' two-run home run to left field.
Fresno State added another run in the seventh to cap off the victory.
Blaze Bohall started the game, allowing five runs, three of which were earned, on five hits with two strikeouts. Ben Wright relieved Bohall in the fifth inning. Wright surrendered one run on two hits in three innings of work. He also had a strikeout. Zack Hartman also made an appearance, pitching two innings of scoreless baseball.
The Rebels return to the diamond on Thursday for a three-game series against San Jose State. The first game of the series is scheduled for a 6:05 p.m. PT start.
