May 23, 2015 BRADENTON, Fla. (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV women's golf finished its first round and then was one of 12 teams to turn in a second round score at the 2015 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championship on Saturday. For the second consecutive day, the tournament was suspended in the evening due to weather.
The Rebels fell to 22nd after turning in a second round score of 36-over-par 324. For the tournament, UNLV is at 53-over 629 (305-324), which is being played at The Concession Golf Club.
Twelve of the 24 teams completed the 6,468-yard, par 72 course, with top ranked Southern California leading the way amongst the teams yet to finish the second round. USC is 14-over for the tournament. Duke and Tennessee have a few holes remaining and sit second and third, respectively, at 23-over and 27 over. Baylor leads all teams who have finished two rounds at 28-over 604 (297-307).
Dana Finkelstein leads the Rebels at 10-over 154 (75-79) and is tied for 48th after two rounds. Freshmen Harley Dubsky (78-78) and Mackenzie Raim (74-82) are tied for 64th at 12-over 156. Senior Mayko Chwen Wang is tied for 104th at 17-over 163 (78-85) and Avery French is tied for 128th at 28-over 172 (85-87).
The suspended second round will resume Sunday morning at 8:25 a.m. UNLV will be paired with NC State and California for the third round, which is expected to begin at 8:30 a.m. Live stats can be found off of a link on UNLVRebels.com, thanks to Golfstat.
