Hough Named Winner of Weekly UNLV Honor

Sept. 30, 2015 LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV football player Tim Hough has been named the Outstanding Rebel of the Week presented by Air Force Reserve, the school announced Wednesday.

The new award goes to the student-athlete who turned in the best individual performance during the previous week of competition, as voted on by the UNLV communications department.

Hough (pronounced HUFF) made the most of earning his first collegiate start by grabbing two interceptions, adding a pass breakup, two solo tackles and a stunning return on a blocked kick to help UNLV hold Idaho State to just eight points on Saturday. In the first quarter and the score standing at just 7-0 in favor of UNLV, the freshman cornerback picked up a blocked field goal attempt and zig-zagged his way down field for a 54-yard return that set the Rebels up for a touchdown. In the second quarter, Hough picked off the Bengal QB and returned it 33 yards to the Idaho State six-yard line, which set up another Rebel touchdown. In the third quarter, Hough struck again, picking off his second pass -- this time in the end zone for a UNLV touchback to thwart an ISU scoring threat.
