UNLV's Game Notes at Fresno State | 2015-16 UNLV Media Guide
Feb. 5, 2016
LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's basketball team will look to snap a two-game losing skid as it travels to Fresno, Calif., to face Fresno State on Saturday, Feb. 6 at 4 p.m. at Save Mart Center (15,596).
UNLV (13-10, 4-6 MW) is coming off a home loss to MW-leading San Diego State (67-52) last Saturday and a road loss at New Mexico (87-83) on Tuesday night. Prior to the SDSU game, the Runnin' Rebels defeated Boise State, 87-77, at home on Jan. 27. UNLV is 4-3 under Interim Head Coach Todd Simon.
The Runnin' Rebels were 9-4 during their non-conference season, playing three top-15 teams. UNLV went 2-1 in such games recording wins vs. then-No. 13/14 Indiana at the Maui Invitational and vs. then-No. 15/16 Oregon at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The loss was at then-No. 13/12 Arizona.
Fresno State (14-8, 5-4) is in fourth place in the MW. The Bulldogs had won two straight and three of their last four before losing on Wednesday night at San José State (65-53). Fresno State was without junior forward Torren Jones, who was suspended for a violation of team rules. He will be available for Saturday's game vs. the Runnin' Rebels.
Fresno State defeated UNLV, 69-66, in their first meeting of the season on Dec. 30 at the Thomas & Mack Center. It was the MW opener for both teams.
Saturday's game will be shown on ESPN3 with Trey Bender and Bill Herenda calling the action. Jon Sandler and Robert Smith will handle the UNLV radio broadcast, which may be heard live on ESPN Radio 1100 AM/100.9 FM. All internet links along with live stats will be available at UNLVRebels.com.
