March 14, 2016 LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - No. 24 UNLV women's golf shot an 8-over-par 584 (289-295) in the first two rounds of the Arizona Wildcat Invitational to place fourth at the par-72, 6,492-yard Sewailo Golf Club. Freshman Kaylee Benton is tied in 13th place after turning in a 1-over 145 (73-72) in the first day of the tournament.
Sophomore Mackenzie Raim (75-73), freshman Elizabeth Prior (70-78) and junior Alexandra Kaui (76-72) are tied for 25th place at 4-over 148. Prior's 2-under 70 in the first round tied for the fifth best score in the round. Sophomore Harley Dubsky is tied for 41st after turning in a 6-over 150 (71-79).
No. 14 Arizona State leads the 15-team field with a team score of 2-under 574 (285-289). The host school No. 12 Arizona is one stroke behind at 1-under 575 (282-293), and Purdue sits in third place with a score of 6-over 582 (288-294). Miami (294-291) is one stroke behind UNLV in fifth place.
Arizona State's Linnea Storm leads all 84 golfers in the tournament with a 9-under 135 (67-68). Daniela Darquea (69-69) and Dewi Weber (71-67) of Miami are tied for second place at 6-under 138.
