March 21, 2016

2016 UNLV Baseball Weekly Notes: Week Six

The UNLV Rebels begin their second six-game homestand of the season Tuesday afternoon with their 3:05 pm contest against the WAC's Grand Canyon Lopes at Earl E. Wilson Stadium. The affair is part of a two-game, home-and-home series between UNLV and GCU with the second meeting scheduled for April 4 in Phoenix.

Included in this six-game stretch are three Mountain West Conference contests against the Nevada, Reno Wolf Pack (March 24-26) and a pair versus the Texas Tech Red Raiders (March 28-29) of the Big 12 Conference.

Following this eight-day span, the Rebels will play 16 of their next 19 games on the road. They'll only play one three-game set at Wilson Stadium in the month of April when the Air Force Falcons come to town from April 15-17. Coincidentally, the Conference series vs. the Falcons occurs in the middle of the month and pair of eight-game road trips.

TUNE IN, WATCH & LISTEN: Five of the six upcoming home games for the UNLV Rebels will be streamed live and free of charge in conjunction with the Mountain West Network and Campus Insiders. Links to each contest as well as live stats can be found at UNLVRebels.com.

ON DECK ... GOVERNOR'S SERIES ACTION: The UNLV Rebels remain at home for a three-game series with their in-state rivals, the Nevada, Reno Wolf Pack that begins Thursday and concludes Saturday afternoon. Thursday's and Friday's contests are scheduled to begin at 6:05 pm, while first pitch is at 2:05 pm Saturday.

Not only do these games count towards the Mountain West standings, but they also have an impact in the Governor's Series presented by NV Energy and Barrick Gold - the all-encompassing athletic and academic head-to-head competition between the two Silver State institutions. To date, UNLV maintains a three-point lead, 10-5 to 7.5, in the 2015-16 Governor's Series.
