LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV Athletics Department held a special dedication of the new Anthony and Lyndy Marnell III Baseball Clubhouse Monday, March 7. The event was invitation only; however, media were invited to attend and tour the new state-of-the-art facility following the ceremony.

The 20-minute program featured select speakers, including: UNLV President Len Jessup, UNLV Athletics Director Tina Kunzer-Murphy, UNLV baseball head coach Stan Stolte and Anthony Marnell III. Pitchers D.J. Myers and Andrew Encinas also spoke on behalf of the team.

Jessup, Marnell, Stolte and Kunzer-Murphy took part in a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Hey Reb! and members of the UNLV Pom and baseball squads looking on.

Additionally, a ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place prior to a tour of the facility.

The Anthony and Lyndy Marnell III Baseball Clubhouse is located on the UNLV campus directly down the first base line inside Earl E. Wilson Stadium adjacent to the Lied Athletic Complex and Rebel Park. The clubhouse was built on land that previously housed the Rebels' batting cages.

The clubhouse is a two-story complex that has a total of 10,000 square feet and includes coaches offices, a players lounge, an academic area, a team locker room as well as training and equipment areas on the first level. Two indoor batting cages, a weight room and conditioning areas are scheduled to comprise the top floor, while a patio juts out from the northwest corner of the building to overlook the stadium and Roger Barnson Field.
