LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV pitcher D.J. Myers has been named the Outstanding Rebel of the Week presented by Air Force Reserve, the school announced Wednesday.

The award goes to the student-athlete who turned in the best individual performance during the previous week of competition, as voted on by the UNLV communications department.

Myers was named Mountain West's Pitcher of the Week for his performance last Friday. He pitched eight scoreless innings and earned a share of a combined shutout in UNLV's 1-0 victory over Air Force. He struck out six against four hits - all singles - and one walk.
