Fans are reminded that a new bag policy is in effect starting with Saturday's 3 p.m. Homecoming football game between UNLV and Utah State.

Fans can purchase tickets to the key Mountain West matchup by calling (702) 739-FANS or visiting unlvtickets.com. Family Fun Packs for the Homecoming game are available for purchase (online only) until Saturday at 11 a.m. The special deal features 4 tickets, 4 hot dogs and 4 drinks for just $56.

Game day highlights include:

-The first 2,000 fans will receive a free water bottle courtesy of Cox Communications.

-The annual UNLV Homecoming Court will be presented at halftime.

-Saturday is also the football program's Breast Cancer Awareness game with survivors participating in the honorary pregame coin toss and the 14th annual Cheer for the Cure halftime performance featuring hundreds of youth cheerleaders from around the Valley joining UNLV's cheerleaders, pom team and Rebel Girls & Company on the field.

NEW BAG POLICY AT SAM BOYD STADIUM

To provide a safer environment for the public and significantly expedite fan entry into Sam Boyd Stadium, a bag policy has been implemented that limits the size and type of bags that may be brought in.

Fans will be able to carry the following style and size bag:

-Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12"

-One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar)

-Small clutch bags no larger than 4.5" x 6.5" with or without a handle or strap can be brought into the stadium with one of the clear plastic bags

-An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection

Prohibited items include, but are not limited to: purses larger than a clutch bag (4.5" x 6.5"), coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, cinch bags, non-approved seat cushions, luggage of any kind, computer bags and camera bags or any bag larger than the permissible size.

Fans will continue to be able to enjoy their tailgate activities in the parking lots and to do so with greater safety and the knowledge that their entry into the venues will be smoother and faster.
