LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV baseball team returns to Las Vegas and Earl E. Wilson Stadium to host the Portland Pilots Tuesday and Wednesday. This two-game set signals the end of midweek play this season as four weekend series remain on the 2017 schedule for the Rebels.
Tuesday's contest is slated for a 6:05 pm first pitch while Wednesday's is set to begin at 2:05 pm.
Additionally, these two games will only be the second and third meetings between UNLV and Portland. The two had previously met on March 14, 1995, in Fresno, California - a 7-6 Rebel win.

Wednesday, April 26 - "Strike Out Bullying Game": Fans wearing white to support bullying awareness can purchase tickets for $3 ... The first 150 fans through the gates will receive a free ice cream sandwich courtesy of Anderson Dairy.
ON DECK: The UNLV baseball team continues playing teams from the Pacific Northwest with a weekend trip to Seattle to face the Seattle Redhawks at Bannerwood Baseball Park in nearby Bellevue. The three-game series will run Friday through Sunday. All three contests will be streamed live and free of charge.
NATIONALLY SPEAKING: The UNLV baseball team has scattered 465 hits and produced a .307 batting average to rank 10th and 23rd, respectively, in those two categories amongst NCAA Division I programs. The hit haul ranks second in the Mountain West, while the average is fourth best in the Conference.
With assistance from the hit total, the Rebels sit 41st in slugging percentage (.448) and 87th in on-base percentage (.374). They are in the top 100 in all three extra-base categories: 16th in triples (15), 19th in doubles (86) and 84th in home runs (33). In turn, those hits have helped place the team 74th in runs (248) and 109th in scoring (5.9).
Individually, Ernie De La Trinidad ranks as high as 12th in hit-by-pitch (15). De La Trinidad is also 26th in on-base percentage (.481), 30th in triples (four), 46th in hits (58) and 47th in batting average (.382).
Payton Squier is not too far behind De La Trinidad in hits, as he ranks 65th (57).
