LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV Baseball senior Justin Jones has been named the Outstanding Rebel of the Week presented by Air Force Reserve, the school announced Wednesday.

The award goes to the student-athlete who turned in the best individual performance during the previous week of competition from Monday through Sunday as voted on by the UNLV Athletic Communications department.

Jones, a local product out of Henderson and Bishop Gorman High School, had a stellar weekend at the plate at home against Fresno State, hitting .545 with six hits - two of which were home runs - and four RBI to go along with six runs scored. After a one hit-one RBI performance in game one, Jones went 3-for-3 with one home run, two RBI and two runs scored in game two. He followed that up with a 2-for-4 day in the series finale, including another home run, two more RBI and three runs scored. On the weekend, the senior recorded a 1.091 slugging percentage and a .615 on-base percentage.

The Rebels have two regular season series left, starting this weekend with the Governor's Series matchup at Nevada, Reno, May 12-14.
