Nearly 70 Student-Athletes Ready For Saturday Graduation

May 12, 2017

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - Nearly 70 current and former UNLV student-athletes are eligible to take part in Saturday's annual Spring Commencement Ceremonies at the Thomas & Mack Center on campus.

The list includes Rebels who wrapped up their course work this semester as well as those on track to complete their degrees during the summer sessions.

Some graduates have remaining eligibility and will compete for their respective teams again next season while pursuing either a master's or second bachelor's degree.

Former UNLV softball star Marissa Nichols will address her fellow graduates as a featured commencement speaker. The 2005 First Team All-American is adding a Ph.D. in Higher Education to her 2008 bachelor's and 2010 master's degrees in education.

Overall, nearly 2,900 UNLV undergraduate, graduate and professional students are eligible to participate in this year's Spring Commencement Ceremonies, which are split into two sessions beginning at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. This year's grads range in age from 19 to 85 and hail from 33 states and 50 countries.

The UNLV Athletics Department congratulates the Class of 2017!
