LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The 17th annual Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown continued Monday at Boulder Creek Golf Club with the Rebels shooting a 2-over 290 in round two - identical to their round one score - to move to 4-under 580 and remain in seventh place. Oregon State, the leader by four strokes after day one, had another stellar day on the course, shooting a 10-under in round two to improve to 18-under through 36 holes.
After shooting an even par round Sunday, sophomore
Polly Mack was one stroke better in the second round, shooting a 1-under 71 to sit in a tie for 20th heading into Tuesday. Senior
Alyssa Getty also turned in a 1-under 71 to get to even on the tournament and is tied for 23rd. Senior
Elizabeth Prior, who started the day in a tie for 13th at 1-under, carded a 3-over Monday is tied for 33rd at 2-over.
While the Beavers had an outstanding round, their 10-under was not the best team score of the day as Tulsa recorded a 12-under to keep pace with OSU and stay within two of the lead at 16-under. Augusta College was another big winner on the day with a 9-under in round two to jump from tied for fourth to third at 11-under. Oregon State's Ellie Slama followed her 67 Sunday with a 68 Monday to move into first place at 9-under and a three-shot lead going into the final round.
REBEL OF THE DAY: Mack, who was the model of the consistency as a freshman last season, picked up where she left off with an even round Sunday and a 1-under Monday after 15 pars, two birdies and a bogey.
