LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) -Â UNLV men's soccer ends the regular season Friday when it hosts Grand Canyon in a Senior Night contest at 7 pm at Peter Johann Memorial Field. It will be the final home game for five Rebel seniors:
Adam Musovski,
Jordan Chavez,
Bay Kurtz, Nate Bohn and
Daniel Moran. Both teams have already clinched spots in next week's WAC Tournament but seeding is still up for grabs as GCU comes into the game with a 5-4 league mark, just ahead of the Rebels' 5-4-1 WAC record.Â
Prior to the game and free to all with ticketed admission is the Rebel Mafia Tailgate, sponsored by the UNLV Soccer Foundation, with free food, free drinks and live music. Gates open for the tailgate party at 5 pm. Tickets are $8 each, $6 for seniors and staff, and $5 if bought online at UNLVTickets.com up to three hours before the game. Kids 12 and under are free at UNLV soccer contests, as are all high school, middle school and elementary students with a Nevada area school ID. Â
UNLV comes in off a thrilling double-overtime victory over Utah Valley by a 2-1 score. Grand Canyon meanwhile brings a two-game win streak into Friday's battle, but is just 2-5 on the road this season. UNLV meanwhile is 4-2-1 on its home field.
Friday's game also showcases teams with different playing styles, as the Rebels prefer a fast paced high scoring contest, and come into the game with 27 total goals this year. GCU meanwhile wins with defense, as it has held seven of its past 10 opponents to one goal or less. However, the Antelopes have scored two goals or more just three times this season, while UNLV has seven such games including in two straight and three of the last five.
Friday's game will be streamed live and carried by the WAC Digital Network which will be available on UNLVRebels.com as well as through the Roku, Apple TV, Fire TV and Android streaming devices.Â
