SATURDAY'S PREVIEW...
UNLV (2-3/0-1) looks for its first Mountain West win of the season when it travels to face surging Utah State (4-1/1-0) Saturday afternoon in what is the Rebels' first trip to Logan since 2014 ... The game will mark UNLV's first appearance on Facebook ... The Rebels are coming off a 50-14 home loss to New Mexico while the high-scoring Aggies have won four straight outings, including a 45-20 win at rival BYU last Friday ... UNLV is looking to win its conference road opener for the first time since 2015 when it knocked off UNR ... With starter Armani Rogers out indefinitly because of a foot injury, it has now been 22 years since the same quarterback started every game of a season for the Rebels (Jon Denton 1996) ... UNLV remains the only team in college football with two rushers averaging 100 yards per game: QB Armani Rogers is ninth with 122.0 YPG while RB Lexington Thomas is 26th with 100.2 YPG ... Thomas (501 yards in 2018) last week became the second player in school history to run for at least 500 yards in four different seasons, joining all-time leading Rebel rusher Tim Cornett (2011-14) ... Lex needs 161 more yards to move past two-time All-American Mike Thomas into second place on UNLV's career rushing list and is one 100-yard rushing game short of tying Cornett (16 in 2011-14) for second on the school's career list ... Even with a season-low 43 yards last week vs. the Lobos, UNLV as a team leads the MW and sits sixth in the nation with 277.8 yards per game rushing ... Under new coordinator Tim Skipper, UNLV's defense has already equaled its QB sack total from a year ago with 11 in five games.

REBELS vs. AGGIES NOTES... 
Utah State leads the all-time series 16-7 and has won four straight over the Rebels ... In last year's meeting in Las Vegas, UNLV's offense had 28 points and 300 rushing yards in the first half before QB Armani Rogers was knocked out with a blow to the head. The Rebels were shut out in the second half of the 52-28 final ... These programs first staged a home-and-home series back in 1971 & '73 and later played 13 times as Big West Conference (originally PCAA) rivals from 1983-95 ... The Rebels and Aggies have played some of the closest contests in UNLV history as 11 of the 23 games were decided by a touchdown or less, including three by just one or two points ... USU head coach and former USU QB Matt Wells twice competed against UNLV, hitting 6 of 9 pass attempts for 181 yards and two TDs in a 23-21 Rebel win in Logan in 1994 and then going 3 for 3 for 24 yards and a scoring run in 1995.
