LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV softball head coach Kristie Fox has officially signed four to her 2019 class, Fox announced Tuesday. The group - Halle Arends, Jessica Rodriguez, Atalia Quenga and Alyssa Trejo - will join the Rebels next fall after signing national letters of intent in November.

Arends, a pitcher from Naperville, Illinois, is a three-year starter at Naperville Central High School under head coach Andy Nussbaum. The right-hander, who stands at six feet two inches tall, will finish her senior season in the spring, but has already garnered three all-conference honors, including unanimous selections in in 2017 and 2018. Arends is also a three-time all-area selection and a four-time academic all-conference honoree. Most recently in 2018, she was named a captain and was the team's most valuable player. She has 249 career strikeouts heading into her final prep season and currently plays her club ball for the Cheetah's out of Downer's Grove, Illinois. She plans on majoring in biology at UNLV.

Rodriguez, a pitcher and utility player, will join the Rebels from Watsonville, California. She is a three-year letterwinner at Watsonville High School under head coach Scott Wilson, where she helped the Wildcats to three consecutive league titles and a sectional championship in 2017. Heading into her senior season this spring, the Wildcats have gone 57-17-1 over three seasons with Rodriguez spending time at shortstop and in the circle. The right-hander is a three-time all-league first team selection, a two-time Pitcher of the Year honoree for Monterey Bay and most recently a second team all-state selection in 2018. Rodriguez also plays on the club circuit, playing shortstop and pitching for the California Suncats and Salinas Storm out of Huntington Beach, California. She plans on majoring in psychology when she arrives at UNLV.Â

Quenga, an infielder from San Jose, California, is a three-year starter at Silver Creek high School under head coach Noriega, playing both shortstop and third base for the Raiders during her prep career. The Raiders have won two straight league championships and will have an eye on a three peat during Quenga's senior campaign in the spring. The right hander is a three-time all-conference honoree, earning second team honors in 2015 and 2016 and a first team all-league award in 2018. Quenga has played her club ball for two different organizations - the Cal Suncats out of Gilroy, California, and the Cal Nuggets out of Belmont, California - with the majority being spent with the Suncats since 2015. She plans on majoring in sociology at UNLV.

Trejo, younger sister to current Rebel standout first baseman and sophomore Mia Trejo, will follow in Mia's footsteps and come to Las Vegas from Tucson, Arizona to play for Fox and the Rebels. The catcher and infielder attended Tucson High Magnet School where she is a three-year letterwinner in softball with her senior season still to play this spring. As a freshman in 2016, Trejo was named to the league's all-freshman team and was a Division 2 All Star team selection. Her sophomore season in 2017 and her junior season in 2018 both ended with all-league first team selections, while she earned a spot on the 6A All Star squad in 2017 and was a 6A All-Southern conference selection in 2018. Trejo played club ball for the Arizona Cats out of Tucson. She is undecided on her major at UNLV.
The last time the Rebels had a pair of sisters on the squad was 2009 when Kara and Tara Bendt both donned the Scarlet and Gray that season.Â
UNLV begins the 2019 campaign on February 8 against Seton Hall at Eller Media Stadium as part of a three-day tournament hosted by the Rebels.
