LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV volleyball team defeated the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks, 3-2, Saturday afternoon in come-from-behind fashion at the Cox Pavilion Saturday afternoon. The Rebels rallied for the exhibition victory with wins in the third (25-21), fourth (25-20) and fifth (15-11) sets after the visitors from Flagstaff, Arizona, claimed the first (25-23) and second (25-21) frames.
Saturday's affair signaled the end of the Rebels' preseason slate, which included their annual Scarlet & Gray Scrimmage and Alumnae Game.
The 2018 regular season begins next weekend, Friday and Saturday (Aug. 24-25), at home with the UNLV Invitational. The Rebels will welcome the Indiana Hoosiers, LIU Brooklyn Blackbirds and Southern Utah Thunderbirds to town for the two-day, round-robin tournament. UNLV will face IU (10:00 am) and SUU (7:00 pm) Friday before it plays LIU (2:00 pm) Saturday.

2018 SCHEDULE: The Rebels are scheduled to play 30 matches with 15 of those at home inside the Cox Pavilion. The team will play six of its first nine matches at home in the UNLV Invitational (August 24-25) against Indiana, Southern Utah and LIU Brooklyn, and the Rebel Challenge (September 7-8) versus Fordham, Cal State Fullerton and Eastern Kentucky. The squad will travel to tournaments hosted by Duquesne (August 31-September 1) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Saint Louis (September 14-15) in St. Louis, Missouri, respectively. Following the quartet of tournaments, UNLV will play 18 Mountain West matches with nine at home and nine on the road.
