LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - A familiar face in past years on the court during UNLV men's basketball games, Chet Buchanan is returning to Rebel Athletics, the department announced Tuesday.
Buchanan will serve as UNLV men's basketball's on-court emcee during games this season and will also make a guest appearance at UNLV football's home opener vs. UTEP September 8.
"One suggestion we heard during our listening tour, through fan surveys and from the new Rebel Fan Council on improving in-game atmosphere, engagement and entertainment, was bringing back Chet," UNLV Director of Athletics
Desiree Reed-Francois said. "We look forward to having him on our team as we continue to enhance our gameday experience."
Buchanan, a well-known Las Vegas radio and event personality, emceed the Rebel Athletic Fund's Drive For 5 Fall Kick-Off Event at Aria this evening.
"I'm beyond excited to get to live a dream twice and once again join the incredible teams at UNLV Athletics," Buchanan said. "We are already hard at work to make Rebel fans' gameday experience the best we possibly can, and to help make Sam Boyd Stadium and the Thomas & Mack Center really difficult places for opposing teams to play. I can't wait to help create more amazing moments and MAKE...SOME...NOISE! See you soon, Rebel fans!"
