Runnin' Rebels Defeated By No. 8/7 UNR Tuesday Night

In front of season's largest crowd, UNLV falls 87-70 at Thomas & Mack Center.

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's basketball team lost at home for the first time in five games as No. 8/7 UNR defeated the Runnin' Rebels 87-70 Tuesday night in a Mountain West game at the Thomas & Mack Center.

The Wolf Pack (20-1, 7-1) had four players score in double figures, led by Caleb Martin's game-high 26 points. 

Senior guard Kris Clyburn led UNLV (11-9, 5-3) in scoring with 23 points, while sophomore guard Amauri Hardy added 17.

STAT OF THE GAME: UNLV went 0 for 12 from 3-point range in the first half, shooting 30.3 percent (10 of 33) from the field over the first 20 minutes. The Runnin' Rebels trailed 48-26 at halftime.

SECOND HALF: UNLV made 7 of 14 3-pointers in the second half and outscored the Wolf Pack by five over the final 20 minutes.

NOTES: 
- The announced attendance was 15,786.
- It was UNLV's second straight loss after starting Mountain West play 5-1.
- UNLV outscored UNR in points in the paint 32-26.
- UNLV recorded 16 offensive rebounds and out-rebounded the Wolf Pack 41-37 for the game.
- Sophomore forward Mbacke Diong returned to the lineup after missing four straight games with an ankle injury suffered at New Mexico on Jan. 8.
- UNLV has made at least one 3-pointer in a NCAA-record 1,059 straight games.
