UNLV Volleyball rallied for its second 3-2 victory over Boise State this season, getting double-doubles from Shelby Capllonch, Mariena Hayden.

BOISE, Idaho (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV volleyball team returned to its winning ways with a 3-2 victory in come-from-behind fashion over the Boise State Broncos Thursday evening at Bronco Gym. The Rebels swung the momentum in their favor in the fourth and carried it through the fifth to claim the Mountain West match by set scores of 15-25, 25-19, 27-29, 25-13, 15-7.

With the win, the Scarlet & Gray has won 10 of its last 11 to push its overall record to 14-10 and its Mountain West mark to 10-3. The Broncos, on the other hand, sit 15-8 and 7-6, respectively, after their second five-set loss to UNLV this season.

Moments after falling behind 2-1 and hitting .158 through three sets of play, the Rebel offense became too dominant over the fourth and fifth sets. UNLV combined to hit .511 with a total of 25 kills against only one error in 47 attack attempts, with a .469 showing in the fourth and an off-the-charts .600 effort in the fifth. Boise State opened the contest with its best hitting clip, a .333 in the first; however, the hosts were held with a range of .097 (fourth set) to .234 (third) the remainder of the affair. Delving deeper, the Rebels threw down 15 more kills (68-53) off 15 more attack attempts (167-152) with only one more error (25-24).

Hayden had a match-high 23 kills to go along with 11 digs for her 12th double-double of the season, while adding three aces and four blocks (three solo). Capllonch paired 17 kills with 11 digs for her 15th double-double of the year.

Alison French was a third Rebel to register double figures in kills with 12 off a team-best .400 hitting, committing only two errors in 25 swings.

Antonette Rolda and Lauryn Burt split setting duties with the former dishing out a total of 58 assists, and adding 11 digs and six aces. Rolda had 30 assists and eight digs, and tied a career high with five aces. Burt notched 28 assists and three digs, while chipping in one kill and one ace.
