LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - Â UNLV dropped its season opener to Cal State Fullerton Saturday in women's college basketball action, as the Titans scored the game's final seven points to rally for a 64-58 victory over the Lady Rebels at the Thomas & Mack Center. It marked the second straight year UNLV has lost its season-opener.
The Lady Rebels overcame a slow start to open up a six-point halftime advantage at 35-29. However, UNLV was held to just 2-of-15 shooting from the floor in the third quarter, allowing the Titans to go back ahead 38-38 after three quarters. The lead changed hands five times in the final quarter before the visitors made their final run.
UNLV was paced by sophomore guard Justice Ethridge's career-high 16 points, while Rodjanae Wade posted her fourth career double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds. Haley Rydalch also set a career-high with seven points.
KEY STAT: The Lady Rebels finished the game just 18-of-63 from the floor for 28.6%, while the Titans shot 46.3% off 25-of-54 shooting.
