SEAL BEACH (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV women's golf team wrapped up a three week stretch of tournaments Tuesday, finishing in a tie for ninth with Idaho at 37-over 901 at Long Beach State's The Gold Rush tournament at Old Ranch Country Club in California.
Sophomore
Polly Mack was the Rebels' top finisher in the event as she took 17th at 5-over (221). Senior
Elizabeth Prior came in two shots behind Mack at 7-over (223) to tie for 19th, while fellow senior
Shannon Oh finished tied for 33rd at 10-over (226). Freshman
Veronica Joels, playing as an individual, was two shots behind Oh at 12-over (228) to tie for 44th, followed by sophomore
Cathy Liu in a tie for 53rd at 15-over (231) and senior
Alyssa Getty in a tie for 78th at 29-over (245).
After leading the field for the first two rounds, San Jose State held on in round three to take the tournament team title at 9-over (873). Georgia was just three shots behind the Spartans at 12-over (876) to take second, while tournament host Long Beach State came in third at 19-over (883). Sacramento State and BYU rounded out the top five at 2-over (884) and 21-over (885), respectively. Individual medalist honors went to co-winners and teammates at the event as SJSU's Abegail Arevalo and Natasha Andrea Oon both finished at 2-under (214) for the tournament.
REBEL(S) OF THE DAY: While Mack at the highest finish for UNLV, senior Prior and Oh had the top rounds of the day, each carding a 2-over 74.
NEXT UP FOR THE REBELS: The Rebels will have some time off before returning to action at Arizona's Wildcat Invite, which is set for March 11-12 in Tucson, Arizona.

REBEL NOTES:
• The Rebels finished second at their second annual Rebel Beach Invitational at Spanish Trail Country Club last week, which is co-hosted by Long Beach State. Prior blew out the field with a seven-shot victory for her second straight tournament win
• The Rebels opened the spring with a team win at the Battle of Boulder Creek, with Prior and Mack tying for medalist honors
• Prior and Mack were named Co-Mountain West Women's Golfers of the Week after their win at Boulder Creek, then Prior earned it a second consecutive week after her win at Rebel Beach
• Last spring, the Rebels won three consecutive MW titles for the first time since they won three in a row from 2004-06
