Week Two of UNLV's 2019 Spring Practice ended with a chilly Friday morning session at Rebel Park.
 
Practice No. 6 was staged in shells after Wednesday saw the first full-pads effort of spring ball. A spirited session was made even more memorable by an appearance above by the world famous Blue Angels U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, which was conducting a low-level flyover in and around the airport for a pre-planned photography activity.
 
As he does regularly, head coach Tony Sanchez met with media in attendance as the team exited the fields in the shadow of the under-construction Fertitta Football Complex.
 
"The second week was good," said Sanchez. "We just had the biggest jump from our first or second week that we've had since we've been here and that's probably because of all the older guys that we have on the field and their consistency within the program. The one thing we really appreciate about it is they're bringing a high level of energy every day and the backups -- the twos and threes -- the way they are pushing the ones. That is just something we haven't had here before. So that's a big deal. It makes a big., big difference."
 
UNLV is scheduled to work out in the morning each Monday, Wednesday and Friday for approximately two hours (8:10-10:20 a.m.) for three weeks before the university's spring break. After returning to campus, there is another week and then a final week of sessions set for Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday.
 
All practices are open to the public but viewing areas are restricted and no use of mobile communication devices will be allowed while at Rebel Park. Please note that dates, times and dress are subject to change.
 
The public is invited to attend the FREE family-friendly Spring Showcase April 6, which will kick off at noon and be held on campus at UNLV's soccer complex at Peter Johann Memorial Field. The Showcase will be preceded by the popular biennial UNLV Athletics Inventory Clearance Sale staged inside the McDermott PE Complex's North Gym where the public can purchase official men's and women's team apparel such as game uniforms, jerseys, warm-ups, coaching shirts and athletic shoes as well as other memorabilia. The much-anticipated sale will run from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Cash and major credit cards will be accepted and all proceeds benefit the UNLV Athletics Department.
 
UNLV Athletics has announced its 2019 football season ticket renewal packages, including the new Faithful Fan Pricing initiative. Fans purchasing season tickets this year may purchase season tickets for the same price per game in the new Las Vegas Stadium opening in 2020. The Faithful Fan Price was developed to reward loyalty and is the latest in a recent string of innovative ticketing strategies UNLV has announced in the past year to increase fan engagement.
 
UNLV's 2019 season ticket holders will receive the benefit of the same per game price for comparable seat locations in Las Vegas Stadium in 2020.
