LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV Rebels hit the road for their next four games with trips to Reno and Phoenix to face the UNR Wolf Pack and Arizona State Sun Devils, respectively. UNLV transitions to the road after it had its five-game homestand cut short Tuesday by inclement weather, forcing a cancelation of a nonconference tilt versus Grand Canyon. This upcoming road stretch kicks off in Mountain West play Thursday night at 6:00 pm vs. intrastate rival UNR at Peccole Park. The Rebels and Wolf Pack will also square off Saturday (6:00 pm) and Sunday (1:00 pm).
 
The road trip concludes Tuesday (6:30 pm) at Phoenix Municipal Stadium against ASU, which is ranked as high as No. 12 in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Poll and USA Today Coaches Poll.
 
The Scarlet & Gray (22-16 overall, 9-9 MW) have won two straight and five of its last six games, with four of those victories coming against MW foes (two each vs. Air Force and San Jose State). The fifth victory was a come-from-behind win at home over No. 9 ASU, and it fell in between the conference series.
 
The Wolf Pack (19-17, 8-10 MW) have won its last three outings, with an 8-1 triumph over San Francisco and a pair of victories over New Mexico in games two (3-0) and three (14-8) in the MW series. Prior to this current stretch, UNR had lost four in a row, three of which were in league play.
 
Since their head-to-head series in Las Vegas in mid-March, UNLV has gone 8-5, while UNR has played .500 baseball with a 7-7 showing.
 
Historically speaking, UNLV and UNR first squared off in 1968 and have played a total of 152 times. The Rebels lead the all-time series 86-66, with six of those victories coming in the last eight meetings against the Wolf Pack. The Silver State squads last met in Las Vegas over March 22-24, with UNLV winning games one (7-6) and two (8-5), but lost the finale (7-6) in 10 innings.

SILVER STATE SERIES: Not only do this week's games between UNLV and UNR count towards the Mountain West standings, but they have added significance in the Silver State Series presented by IBEW and Nevada Donor Network. Dating back to the 2012-13 academic year, the Rebels have beaten the Wolf Pack five times (2012-13, 2013-14, 2014-15, 2015-16 and 2017-18) and tied once (2016-17).
 
To date, the all-encompassing athletic and academic competition between the state's two NCAA Division I programs sits deadlocked at 13.5 with the inclusion of the women's golf results from the MW Championships. For the sport of baseball, the Rebels own a 2-1 edge over the Wolf Pack after their previous meeting in Las Vegas in mid-March, with the three points possibly awarded this weekend or at the MW Championship – like last year – in Reno in late May.
 
ON DECK: UNLV stays out on the road for its second trip to Phoenix this season. This trek, slated for Tuesday (April 23), represents a return engagement to face the No. 9 Arizona State Sun Devils at Phoenix Municipal Stadium. The Rebels and Sun Devils faced each other one week ago in Las Vegas, with the UNLV coming out on top, scoring six runs in the bottom of the ninth for the 10-9, come-from-behind upset win. The Rebels' first jaunt to the Valley of the Sun came two weeks ago with a midweek contest against the Grand Canyon Lopes on April 2.
 
STOTT SWIPES SECOND STRAIGHT WEEKY AWARD: For the fourth straight week, UNLV baseball had one of its own claim the Mountain West's Player of the Week award, the conference office announced Monday. Bryson Stott was named the recipient of the honor for the second consecutive week, following teammate Jack-Thomas Wold's two-week reign.
 
Dating back to the MW's inaugural baseball campaign in 2000, there have only been five instances a team has won the Player of the Week honor back-to-back-to-back-to-back and three of those were achieved by the Rebels: 2006, 2018 and 2019. New Mexico accomplished the feat in 2012 and 2017.
 
The junior shortstop led the Rebels in batting average (.533), hits (eight), doubles (four), total bases (15), slugging percentage (1.000), walks (six), on-base percentage (.667) and stolen bases (three), and shared the top spot in home runs (one) and RBI (four).
 
Stott began the week reaching base safely in all six of his plate appearances in Tuesday's 10-9, come-from-behind win over then-No. 9 Arizona State. He had two hits (one double) and four walks to go along with two RBI and two runs. He led the comeback with a walk and a run, and capped it with a bases-loaded walk for the win.
 
The Desert Oasis High School graduate led UNLV to a series victory over MW-leading San Jose State over the weekend, hitting .462 with six hits, four of which went for extra bases with three doubles and one homer. Additionally, he had three runs, two RBI and three stolen bases.
 
He began the series with three hits (two doubles), one run and one stolen base in the first two contests. In the third and final affair, he had three hits (one double and one homer), two runs, two RBI, one walk and two stolen bases. He scored the team's first run with a solo homer in the third. He pushed UNLV ahead in the sixth with the eventual game-winning hit/RBI, a double in the sixth. He added an insurance run in the seventh.
 
STOLTE RECORDS 100TH WIN: UNLV's Stan Stolte recorded his 100th and 101st career wins as the head coach of the Rebel baseball program with victories over San Jose State Saturday and Sunday, respectively. The milestone marker occurred Saturday evening in a 4-3 triumph in 11 innings over SJSU.
 
To date, Stolte has been part of the last 258 victories in team history with 157 of those occurring while he served as the associate head coach from 2011-15.
 
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING – TEAM: UNLV is ranked in the top 100 of 14 different NCAA categories.
 
- UNLV ranks third overall in double plays (40) and "turns two" 1.05 times per game, which puts them eighth overall in the nation.
