LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV men's tennis team will open play at the Mountain West Championship by facing San Diego State for the second time in just six days.
Â
The Rebels, 13-8 overall and seeded fifth after ending 2-5 in the MW, just lost at fourth-seeded SDSU (13-9/4-3) to close the regular season on Saturday hampered by a thin lineup because of illness. Now the two programs will meet in quarterfinal action Thursday at noon. The winner will move on to Friday's semifinal vs. the winner of a match between top-seeded New Mexico and eighth-seeded Air Force.
Â
The 2019 men's event is being hosted by Fresno State at the Wathen Tennis Center April 25-27. Quarterfinal action runs throughout Thursday, with the semifinals on Friday at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. The championship tilt on Saturday is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
