LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) -Â Â The 2019 NCAA Women's Golf Championship field was announced live today on Golf Channel and while the Rebels won't be competing as a team this year, senior
Elizabeth Prior and sophomore
Polly Mack have been selected as individual entrants for the NCAA regional round.Â
Each of the four regional sites features 18 teams and six individual participants, with Prior and Mack staying out west to play at the Trumble Creek Golf Club in the Cle Elum, Washington regional hosted by Washington.
The news comes a day after both Prior and Mack earned Mountain West All-Conference honors, with Prior nabbing her third career all-league award and Mack picking up her second straight first team nod.
Both Prior and Mack turned in strong spring performances as each won a pair of tournaments, which included a shared medalist honor at the Battle at Boulder Creek to open the spring. Prior went on win the Rebel Beach Invitational by seven strokes at 10-under the following week, while Mack captured her first career outright title at the Mountain View Invitational in March after shooting a career-low 10-under for the tournament.Â
This will mark the fourth straight season Prior will play and second consecutive year Mack will compete in an NCAA regional as both competed in the team competition last spring.
NCAA Regionals will take place May 6-8. In addition to the Cle Elum site, the other three sites are in East Lansing, Michigan (Michigan State); Norman, Oklahoma (Oklahoma) and Auburn, Georgia (Auburn). From regional competition, 24 teams and 12 individuals (six teams and three individuals from each site) will advance to the national championships to be played May 17-22, at Blessings Golf Club, hosted by the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
