Department Recognized During NACMA's Best Of Awards

Rebel marketing staff earned sliver medal in Fan Engagement Video category and bronze in New Revenue Generating Idea.

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV Athletics was recognized Wednesday in Orlando during the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators' (NACMA) Best Of Awards as the organization's 28th annual convention was held.

The Rebels' marketing department was awarded the silver medal in the Fan Engagement Video category for its "This is UNLV Athletics" video series and won bronze in the New Revenue Generating Idea category for its "Eat All You Can" plan.

The "This is UNLV Athletics" videos were played during UNLV men's basketball games at the Thomas & Mack Center this season and were also showcased on social media. The lighthearted videos were created in the same style as ESPN's famous "This is SportsCenter" campaign and were well-received by fans throughout the season because they highlighted the personalities of UNLV student-athletes.

The "Eat All You Can" plan was recognized for an increase in revenue generated through football and mini plan ticket sales, as well as a boost to group ticket purchases. Season ticket holders, mini plan buyers and group leaders had the option to include unlimited hot dogs, nachos, popcorn and soda with their tickets for select UNLV home games at Sam Boyd Stadium. The new unlimited concessions option was praised by local and national media outlets.

"We are thrilled to be recognized for our efforts by NACMA and its members," UNLV Associate Athletics Director for Content Creation & Fan Engagement Megan Caligiuri said. "We were judged against Power 5 and Group of 5 schools nationwide and it is exciting to be included. Our marketing and video teams strive to be the best in the country and this shows we are moving in the right direction."

Tennessee earned gold in the Fan Engagement Video category with Arizona State taking bronze. In the New Revenue Generating Category, UCF won gold and Auburn earned silver.

Initiated in 2003, the NACMA Best Of Awards program honors outstanding achievement in marketing and promotions.

NACMA is administered by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA), which is in its 54th year. Next year's NACDA and Affiliates Convention will be held in Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay.
