LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – For the third straight year, UNLV Baseball will have a representative participating in the Northwoods League's Major League Dreams Showcase.
Edarian Williams was selected by a panel of MLB scouts to partake in a day of workouts as well as a game featuring Great Lakes Division players Tuesday evening (August 6) in Madison, Wisconsin.
Williams, a rising sophomore from Las Vegas (Rancho HS), follows in the footsteps of teammates
Bryson Stott (Las Vegas/Desert Oasis HS) and rising junior
Jack-Thomas Wold (Henderson/Basic Academy) who suited up for the 2017 and '18 editions of the Showcase, respectively.
Following a campaign that saw him named to Collegiate Baseball's Freshman All-America Team and earn Mountain West Co-Freshman of the Year honors, Williams has appeared in 52 games, thus far, for the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters, who Stott and Wold once played for in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. He has compiled a .244 batting average with 41 hits, including 10 extra-base hits (seven doubles and three home runs), 33 runs and 17 RBI.
Besides Williams, the Rebels have also been represented in the Northwoods League by
Jacob Godman and
Chase Hanson with the Green Bay Booyah,
James Gamble with the Willmar Stingers and
Austin Pfeifer with the Kenosha Kingfish.
