LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV men's soccer senior
Timo Mehlich was named the Outstanding Rebel of the Week, the school announced Wednesday.
The award goes to the student-athlete who turned in the best individual performance during the previous week of competition from Monday through Sunday as voted on by the UNLV Athletic Communications department.
The native of Monchengladbach, Germany, scored both of UNLV's goals in just under a minute span midway through the first half to lift the Rebels to a 2-0 road victory at Pacific Sept. 13. That gave him three goals for the season, which is tied for the team-lead. Four of his five shots in the game were on goal, while he also finished with three shots in a 1-0 loss at San Francisco Sunday afternoon. For his performance, he was named the WAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, the first weekly WAC honor of his career.
