DURHAM, North Carolina (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV women's soccer team met the No. 1 team in the nation for the first time in program history Sunday morning, and North Carolina lived up to its billing as the Rebels were handed an 8-0 loss on the second day of the Duke Nike Classic.
TURNING POINT: UNC scored three goals in the first 14 minutes of the half on the way to a 6-0 halftime advantage.
STAT OF THE GAME: UNLV was outshot 28-4 for the day, including 15-3 on shots on goal.
QUOTABLE: "It was a tough game tonight, we were missing a couple of key players and Duke is a great team. However, it was good to play against

UP NEXT: UNLV is off for a week before traveling to College Station for a road match at top-25 Texas A&M Sunday, Sept. 15 at 4 pm (PT).
REBEL NOTES:
* This marked the first game in school history against the No. 1 team in the nation. Previously the highest ranked team UNLV had played was No. 3 UCLA in the 2003 season.
* The eight goals allowed and the eight-goal margin of defeat were both the largest in program history, previously it was a 7-0 loss to BYU on Oct. 10, 1999.
