Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Lady Rebels Fall To Colorado State Rally 60-56

Wade posted her 17th double-double of the season in the loss.

FORT COLLINS, Colorado (UNLVRebels.com) -  UNLV's recent fourth quarter struggles continued on Wednesday night, as the Lady Rebels led by seven points with over three minutes left before Colorado State finished the game on an 11-0 run to steal a 60-56 victory in Mountain West women's basketball action at Moby Arena. The loss, the fourth straight for the Lady Rebels, dropped them into fifth place in the conference at 8-7, just one game ahead of Saturday's opponent San Diego State (7-8), while the Rams moved to 6-9 in league play.

After scoring just 25 points in the first half, UNLV exploded for 23 in the third on 64% shooting, which included three treys in the final three minutes to take a 48-45 lead going into the final quarter. The lead grew to 56-49 for UNLV thanks to five straight free throws for Rodjanae Wade, the last of which made it a 56-49 score with 3:30 on the clock.

THE TURNING POINT: Wade's free throws were the final points for UNLV, as it would miss two straight shots and turned the ball over on the third possession. CSU meanwhile scored on four straight possessions, including a three-pointer to tie the game at 1:53, and the eventual game-winner on a floater with 1:12 to play. UNLV did come up with a steal and Wade was fouled when she attempted to pick up the ball, but it was ruled a player-control foul so UNLV was not awarded any free throws. The Lady Rebels then had two shot attempts in the paint with 30 seconds to go but could get neither to fall, and the Rams made two free throws with 22 seconds left to seal the win.

STAT OF THE GAME: UNLV was just 1-of-15 from the floor in the fourth quarter (6.7%), including 0-of-6 from three-point range.
