TUCSON, Arizona (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV women's golf team ended day one at the Wildcat Invite in 10th place after shooting a 29-over 605 through two rounds.
Sophomore
Veronica Joels turned in the lowest two-round score for the Rebels Monday, carding a 4-over 148 to sit tied for 17th heading into Tuesday's final round. Junior
Samantha Fuller came in one shot behind her at 5-over 149 to sit tied for 24th, followed by freshman
Dana Puyol in a tie for 48th at 10-over 154. Junior
Cathy Liu and freshman
Elina Saksa each shot 11-over to sit tied for 53rd, while freshman
Aliyah Williams, playing as an individual, carded a 14-over 158 and is tied for 59th.
Tournament host Arizona was stellar on its home course, carding an 18-under 558 to lead the field by 23 strokes. New Mexico State is in second at 5-over 581, followed by Oregon in third at 6-over 582, Fresno State in fourth at 13-over 589 and Long Beach State in fifth 16-over.
The Wildcats also own all five top spots on the individual leaderboard with Kallie Vongsaga and Vivian Hou both tied for first at 8-under 136 and holding a three-stroke lead going into Tuesday.

NOTABLE:
• The Rebels are playing in the Wildcat Invite for the third straight year and the 13th time overall.
• UNLV has a new look with just two returners from last year's roster. Six new faces have joined the 2019-20 squad.
• Prior to the 2018-19 season, UNLV had won three straight Mountain West titles and made a NCAA postseason appearance in 16 consecutive years.
• Head coach
Amy Bush-Herzer is in her ninth year at the helm of the program. She has led her team to a conference championship four times.
