Senior Justine Federe, junior Mia Trejo and sophomore Jenny Bressler tabbed all-conference for second consecutive season
LAS VEGAS. (UNLVRebels.com) - The Mountain West Conference released a modified 2020 All-Conference team after the shortened season and three Rebels were honored, the league office announced Wednesday. Senior Justine Federe, junior Mia Trejo and sophomore Jenny Bressler were selected to the team for the second consecutive year after the three were all first team selections after the 2019 season.
Instead of first and second team tags, the 2020 awards feature just one general all-conference team with no individual awards due to no league games being played this spring. Head coach Kristie Fox has now had at least three all-league honorees in each of her first three seasons.
It is no surprise to see Federe, Trejo and Bressler on the team again as each earned a NFCA All-Region honor a year ago and were on pace to do the same in 2020.

Federe, from Chula Vista, California, was off to an outstanding start to her senior campaign. The second baseman hit .376 with 26 RBIs, 22 runs scored and six home runs, which were all team-best marks in 2020. The senior had five game-winning RBIs in the last three weekends of the season alone. Federe earned her first Mountain West Player of the Week honor on Feb. 25 after going 8-for-18 (.444) with six RBI, six runs scored and two game-winning hits, including the three-run home run as part of an eight-run seventh-inning comeback against UT Chattanooga. She also had a team-high 15-game hitting streak this season.

Trejo, a Tucson, Arizona, native, has been a consistent force for the Rebels since she arrived on campus, making all 129 starts at first base during her three-year career. The junior was just getting hot as she hit .438 (7-for-16) with five RBI, two doubles and a home run in a 5-0 weekend at Grand Canyon on what was the final weekend of the season. She was surely headed towards a third straight NFCA All-Region award, which would have made her just the fourth Rebel softball player to earn the honor more than twice.

Originally from Canton, Michigan, Bressler was coming off arguably the best freshman season in program history, when she set the record for most wins by a freshman (23) and earned first team all-conference and all-region honors. She was off to another strong start as she had already collected 11 wins, led the conference in opposing batting average (.180), was tied for first in wins (11) and was second in innings pitched (82.2) and batters struck out (89). She accounted for five of UNLV's eight shutouts and had a strong final weekend in Phoenix, going 3-0 with two complete games, including a 1-0 complete-game shutout against Montana, with 17 strikeouts in 19.0 innings pitched. The sophomore righty also threw her first career no-hitter - a five-inning 8-0 shutout over Montana on February 13 - which was the first by a UNLV pitcher since 2013.
