PHOENIX (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV (6-8, 2-5) men's soccer team scored first in Friday's night's match, but a pair of unanswered goals ultimately doomed the Rebels in their 2-1 loss to WAC preseason favorite Grand Canyon (11-2, 6-1) at GCU Stadium.

In the 12th minute, junior Skyler Goo's third goal of the season put the Rebels ahead 1-0 as he received a pass from freshman Bubu Medina, scurried past GCU's goalkeeper into the box and slipped the ball behind the remaining Lopes defenders. However, this wound up being the only Scarlet and Gray score of the night before Grand Canyon took control of the game with their first goal in the 28th minute and the go-ahead score in the 36th minute.

UNLV will now close out its 2021 road schedule in Colorado Springs Sunday in its matchup with reigning WAC champion Air Force at 11 a.m. PT/12 p.m. MT.
