Children Under 12 No Longer Required To Be Vaccinated To Attend UNLV Basketball Games At Thomas & Mack Center

Governor's directive was amended to allow those under the age of 12 to be admitted to large events regardless of vaccination status but must wear a face covering if proof of vaccination not shown.

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – Children under the age of 12 will not be required to be vaccinated to attend UNLV basketball games at the Thomas & Mack Center for the remainder of the season, UNLV Athletics announced Monday

Governor Sisolak issued Directive 051 on Nov. 30 that amended Section 7 of Directive 050 stating "Event operators may admit attendees under the age of 12, regardless of vaccination status. However, all such attendees age 2 and over who do not show proof of full vaccination must continue to wear a face covering during the event, regardless of whether they would otherwise be exempt from the face-covering requirement due to age."

It was previously announced that all attendees to UNLV basketball games at the Thomas & Mack Center must show proof of vaccination for entry this season, including those under the age of 12, and by doing so are not required to wear a mask. All attendees age 12 and up are still required to show proof of vaccination. Although attendees ages 2-11 are no longer required to show proof of vaccination to attend, they will be required to wear a face covering.

Fans, media and gameday personnel may complete the proof of vaccination by visiting UNLVRebels.com/vax. It is a simple one-time verification of vaccine process that does not require an App, instead using a web-based pass that shows confirmation of vaccination at the arena entrance. The pass can be accessed each game via a text or email message link, or saved in the native wallets that are embedded in every Apple and Android mobile phone.

The Runnin' Rebels will return to the Thomas & Mack Center on Wednesday, Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. vs. Omaha. Tickets may be purchased at UNLVtickets.com, by calling 702-739-FANS (3267) or by visiting the Thomas & Mack Center Box Office.
